Privacy Policy

This policy describes how 10genmail collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our temporary email service. We aim to be clear and transparent about data practices.

What Information We Do and Do Not Collect

10genmail is designed to minimize the data we hold:

  • No user accounts are required. You do not register or sign in.
  • Temporary email addresses are generated automatically when you request one. We do not link them to your identity.
  • We do not read the content of emails sent to your temporary address. Messages are delivered to your browser for that session only and are not stored long-term on our systems.
  • When an address expires (e.g. after 10 minutes), the address and any messages tied to it are no longer accessible.
  • We may collect minimal technical data necessary to operate the service, such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps. This may be used for security, debugging, and basic analytics where applicable.

How We Use Information

We use the limited information we have for:

  • Site functionality and security: to deliver temporary addresses, show incoming messages, and protect against abuse.
  • Analytics and performance: to understand how the site is used (e.g. page views, events) when analytics are enabled.
  • Advertising and monetization: we may show ads (e.g. via Google AdSense or similar). Ads may be contextual or non-personalized where we or our partners support it.

We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use them for essential operation (e.g. language or theme preference) and, when enabled, for analytics and advertising.

Essential cookies help the site work correctly. Third-party cookies may be set by our analytics and advertising partners (e.g. Google) to measure traffic and serve ads.

You can control or block cookies through your browser or device settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect site features or ad relevance.

In regions where consent is required (e.g. EU/EEA/UK), we show a consent choice before loading analytics and advertising. You can accept or reject. Opting out of analytics is also possible by visiting the site once with ?noga=1 in the URL.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services that may collect and process data independently:

  • Google Analytics (or similar): helps us understand site usage (e.g. page views, events). Their practices are governed by their own privacy policy.
  • Google AdSense or other ad networks: may place cookies or use other technologies to serve and measure ads. Data practices are governed by the respective provider.

10genmail does not control how these third parties collect or use data. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

Temporary email messages exist only for the lifetime of the address (e.g. up to 10–30 minutes). When the address expires, messages are automatically deleted and are no longer accessible.

Server logs and analytics data may be retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes. Exact retention periods for logs and analytics depend on our and our providers' configurations; we do not retain them longer than necessary.

User Rights and Privacy Controls

Depending on where you are, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your data.

If you are in the EU/EEA/UK (GDPR): you have rights such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing. We do not sell personal information.

Because we do not have user accounts, we cannot associate data with a persistent identity. To exercise your rights, contact us (see Contact below) and describe your request; we will respond in line with applicable law.

International Users

10genmail is available worldwide. Your data may be processed in different jurisdictions, including where our servers or third-party providers operate. The privacy laws that apply to you depend on your location. By using the service, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
